    A social enterprise working with South Yorkshire communities to improve the energy efficiency of homes and communities by delivering retrofit projects and creating networks and partnerships to build community wealth and develop local skills.

  • Our Cow Molly

    A FAMILY-RUN DAIRY FARM

    Based in Dungworth, Sheffield and run by Eddie Andrew and his family since 1947. It diversified into selling ice-cream in 2007 using the farm’s own milk and cream and has had great support from the people of Sheffield.

    Our Cow Molly supplies over 110 local businesses and is active on Facebook and Instagram.

  • North East & Yorkshire Net Zero Hub

    FUNDING PROVIDER

    A partnership of the six Combined Authorities of the North East and Yorkshire, funded and directed by government to support local authorities and they communities they serve with the development and delivery of clean energy projects.

    The hub has funded the feasibility studies for our projects.

  • Hockerton Housing Project

    EXPERT CONSULTANT

    Hockerton Housing Project joined SY Ecofit CIC and Our Cow Molly to examine the potential for wind turbines at the dairy, providing a comprehensive feasibility report for this long term vision.

    Pure Leapfrog is a charity with over 20 years of experience working at the cutting edge of sustainability innovation. They led the financial modelling component of the feasibility study, and helped us work through legal structures, share capital options, and what it would take to make the project attractive to community investors.

    RESEARCH PARTNER

    Researchers and students at the University of Sheffield have provided robust academic evaluation and forecasting for our projects, including creating Life Cycle Assessment tools. These mean that can we share comprehensive impact, costs, and maintenance forecasts for our clean energy projects.

    ADVISOR

    We’ve worked with Co-operatives UK to establish the Community Benefit Society, including foundational structures such as our Rules, and support to achieve the Standard Mark. We’re incredibly grateful for their expertise and support.

  • Mottainai Institute

    PROJECT PARTNER

    We’ve teamed up with Mottainai to explore the potential for a community-owned energy systems, balancing carbon-sequestering biochar and energy production by processing waste from the arboriculture sector. Mottainai is a Community Interest Company providing science based, ground up solutions to develop regenerative local entrepreneurial communities and guide businesses towards circular revenue models, to create more resilient circular cities.

  • Future Greens

    CONTRACTOR

    Future Greens build advanced anaerobic digesters that make organic waste-to-energy systems cheaper and easier to deploy. They’re undertaking feasibility work on the waste streams from gardens and cafes at the Wentworth Woodhouse estate.

  • National Geothermal Centre

    EXPERT ADVISOR

    As part of the Wentworth Woodhouse project, we’re exploring the potential for capturing heat from defunct coal mines. The geothermal centre are helping to model the groundworks and infrastructure requirements and integration with the estate’s existing systems as part of a feasibility study into reducing heating costs at the site using clean energy technologies, with a community-ownerships model.
