From ‘shop local to ‘invest local’ - Mag North feature

Beth Kirkbride has given the reMooable Energy project a great write up on local platform Mag North, which champions Northern people and places. She’s interviewed Director Jonathan Hind, Project Developer Lizzie Stygall, and farmer Eddie Andrew, as well as chatting to early investors, to give us a great insight into how community energy strengthens local economies and supports local food production.

“Most people don’t realise that the money we keep in high-street banks often ends up helping to finance fossil-fuel expansion. Community energy is a way to do the opposite – to act on climate change directly, rather than waiting for government or big finance to catch up,”

Dr Ann-Marie Williamson, investor in Sheffield Energy Works’ reMooable Energy project
